My belated contest entry?

In the spirit of long-distance support for the group entry at the recent Hornets contest, here is my not-present-and-not finished entry. This is the Hasegawa 1/32 P-40E kit. Assembly of this kit is a bit tricky because of it's 'modular' design which allows many variants to be issued using fewer new molds.

As always we begin in the office. I've used a bit of Eduard color PE to spruce things up a bit:

The paint revealed that some more work was needed to clean up the clear parts. More soon!

Finally started to get some paint on her today. I started by preshading with Nato Black, then did the belly with neutral gray. This coat was polished with a polishing stick.


Then I went back over the center areas of the panels with a lighter shade of NG. This is a first for me and I think I like it!



No to try for a similar effect on the upper surface.....
